Pezzettino is small, much smaller than his friends.  He assumes that must mean that he’s a missing piece of someone else.  He asks The Strong One, who wonders how he could BE The Strong One if he had a missing piece.  The Swimming One and The One Who Climbs Mountains respond similarly. 

Pezzettino finally seeks answers from The Wise One, who advises he go to the Island of Wham.  Pezzettino sets out in his boat.  Once there, he finds a desolate and unwelcoming place.  He goes up and down, up and down but no answers, no others, nothing.  Suddenly, he stumbles and falls down a hill, smashing into thousands of tiny pieces.  Pezzettino reassembles himself and realises he is whole just as he is.  ‘I AM MYSELF!” he happily tells his friends on his return.

Warrior II - Virabadrasana II

Pezzettino asks The Strong One if he could be a missing piece of his.

Place your front foot pointing toward the circle, and take a big step back, planting your back foot centered sideways behind it.  Raise your arms parallel to the floor.  Breathe in and out.

The Swimming One
Salabhasana variation

Lie on your belly with your arms and legs outstretched.  Take a deep breath in through your nose and as you breathe out, lift both your arms and legs at the same time.  Breathe in, keeping them elevated, now mimicking the breaststroke.  Breathe out, still swimming.  Breathe in and out one more time while swimming before you lower your limbs.

The One Who Climbs Mountains

Pezzettino asks The One Who Climbs Mountains the same questions, and receives the same response.  

This pose can be a mountain, and serves the purpose well (rather than proper Mountain pose) when going up and down the mountain as Pezzetino does later in the story.

Off to the Island of Wham
Boat Pose - Paripurna Navasana

Pezzettino rows to the Island of Wham after The Wise One advises he go there for answers to his questions.

Begin in a seated position with your back straight and your legs straight out in front of you.  Lower your back as you lift your legs. Breathe in and out, using your arms to row.

Up and Down on the Island of Wham
Upward Dog - Urdhva Mukha Svanasana

Pezzettino searches all around the Island of Wham, up and down the hills.

Begin in Down Dog.  Keep your hands and feet stable, and shift your hips and chest forward, lowering toward the floor without touching it.  Breathe in and come back up to Down Dog.  Breathe out and move forward again.  Try this a few times, breathing in and out as you go 'up and down.'
